At West Oaks School, everything we do is underpinned by preparation for life beyond school. From the earliest stages through to post-16, pupils are supported to develop the communication, independence and life skills they will need for their future.
Pupils move on to a range of destinations, including college placements, community based projects and a variety of work-related opportunities. Learning is carefully planned to ensure that each pupil is prepared for their next step, with pathways that reflect their individual strengths, needs and aspirations.
A key highlight of each year is our graduation ceremony. This is a meaningful celebration of each pupil’s journey through West Oaks, recognising their achievements and the contribution they have made to the school community, regardless of how long they have been with us.
We value the ongoing relationships we build with our pupils and families. Each year, we invite former pupils back to West Oaks for our alumni event, providing an opportunity to reconnect and celebrate their continued successes.
We also maintain links with pupils after they leave, as well as with their families and the settings they move on to. This allows us to gather valuable feedback about their experiences, helping us to reflect on and continually develop our provision for future pupils.
