Attendance
We value excellent attendance and encourage all pupils to attend school regularly so they can fully benefit from the learning opportunities and experiences we provide.
If your child is unwell and unable to attend, please contact the school office as soon as possible by telephone and either speak to a member of staff or leave a message. We also ask parents and carers to notify school in advance of any medical or other appointments whenever possible.
School Day
The school day begins at 9:00am and finishes at 3:15pm.
Holidays
Holiday dates are shared with families well in advance to help parents and carers plan holidays during school closure periods and minimise disruption to pupils’ learning.
Homework
We believe that support and encouragement from parents and carers at home plays an important role in every child’s progress. Curriculum newsletters are shared each term to outline upcoming themes and topics, along with suggestions for ways families can support learning at home.
Where appropriate, teachers may also provide more structured homework activities tailored to the needs of individual classes.
Charges for School Activities
Many educational visits and enrichment activities are funded by the school. Occasionally, parents and carers may be invited to make a voluntary contribution towards the cost of trips or special activities.
No pupil will ever be excluded from participating because a contribution cannot be made.
Behaviour and Discipline
We promote positive attitudes to learning and high standards of behaviour throughout the school. Our Positive Behaviour Policy supports pupils in developing respect, responsibility and confidence, and is shared with all members of the school community.
Compliments, Concerns and Complaints
We encourage parents and carers to discuss any concerns promptly so that they can be resolved quickly and effectively. In most cases, concerns can be addressed through discussion with the class teacher or relevant staff member.
If further support is needed, parents and carers should contact the Head of School or Principal in the first instance. Full details of the school’s complaints procedures can be found in the Policies section of this website.
